Soil evaluations begin ahead of final investment decision on Woodfibre LNG project

(Dawson Creek Mirror) Near the banks of the Howe Sound on the site of a former pulp mill, boreholes are being drilled on land and shore all this month to get a closer look at soil conditions in and around the structures that will prop up the proposed Woodfibre liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility.

The tiny LNG plant that is about a ninth the size of the Pacific NorthWest LNG is slated for a final investment decision from Woodfibre LNG Ltd. by the end of the year.

If approved, the company says it will source its natural gas from Northeast B.C.
