Local author, Randy Wallace, has a new novel in the works, “#9 Grundpark Road”

The story is set in North Central British Columbia, where the main character, Daniel is purchased by a ruthless land owner who needs a slave to harvest the gold from an old mine he discovered on his property. As unfortunate a beginning as Daniel has had as a foster child, his predicament worsens astronomically when he is drugged, thrown into a coffin and transported across provinces, to British Columbia. Never a boy to lose heart or hope, Daniel is determined to find a means of escape. This is an adventure story that keeps the reader on the edge of his seat, rooting for the main character, Daniel. This is a page turner that you won’t want to put down and can’t afford to miss.

Randy Wallace, a teacher from the small northern BC community of Vanderhoof, was born in the US city of Stayton Oregon – a few miles from it’s capital, Salem. Shortly after his birth, he moved with his family to Vanderhoof. Over time, the family carved out a niche in the remote Canadian wilderness. The only way in from the main road was by tractor. Randy’s father quickly upgraded the goat trail to a road and began to etch a clearing that would one day become the location of their new home – a twenty-four by twenty-four foot cabin where the family dwelled for ten years.

Making a home was a process that lasted a lifetime and provided innumerable experiences that comprised his rich and unique youth.

In adulthood Randy became a teacher and spent almost two decades in the classroom teaching kids from kindergarten through grade twelve.

He realized his passion for writing and shared it with his students early in his career. It wasn’t until much later that he began to stretch his wings and share a variety of his works outside his sphere of students, friends and relatives.
